Privacy policy
Who we are
This privacy policy explains how [Company legal name], trading as RISKCAPE ("RISKCAPE", "we", "us"), collects, uses and protects information when you visit riskcape.com or submit a form on this website. RISKCAPE is based in Lusaka, Zambia, at [registered address].
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to give us directly, and a small amount of information collected automatically.
- Form submissions. When you contact us, request a demo, apply for a role or subscribe to updates, we collect what the form asks for — typically your name, email address, company, phone number, role and message.
- Technical information. We record the IP address a form was submitted from, purely to prevent abuse and investigate spam.
- Cookies and analytics. This site sets strictly necessary cookies (session identification and cross-site request forgery protection) required for the website to function, plus one first-party analytics cookie (
rc_vid) that lets us tell how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and roughly where they came from. That cookie holds nothing but a random identifier — no name, no email, no advertising ID — and is never shared with or sold to a third party; we don't use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracker. IP addresses used for analytics are truncated (the last segment removed) before we store them, so a visit can't be traced back to a specific device or person. You can block or delete this cookie at any time in your browser settings without losing access to the site.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- respond to your enquiry, schedule a demo, or review a job application;
- send you the specific update or resource you requested, such as a newsletter you opted into;
- keep a record of correspondence so our team can pick up a conversation without asking you to repeat yourself; and
- protect the site against spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who we share it with
We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use a small number of service providers to operate this website — for example, our email delivery provider, who processes messages strictly on our instructions. Where a form submission is a genuine sales enquiry, the RISKCAPE team member handling it will see it.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and maintain a record of the business relationship, then delete or anonymise them. Job applications are retained for the duration of the recruitment process plus a reasonable period afterwards, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you are based, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to how we use it, or to withdraw consent for anything done on the basis of consent (such as a newsletter). To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@riskcape.com. If you are in Zambia, you also have rights under the Data Protection Act, 2021, and may contact the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner directly.
Security
This site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and access to stored form submissions is restricted to authorised RISKCAPE staff. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect what you share with us.
Children
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add analytics or a new form. Material changes will appear here before they take effect.
